The Sokoto State Government on Saturday
donated 100 computers to some physically challenged students of the
Abdulrasheed Adisa Raji Special School for the Physically-Challenged.
The Commissioner for Education, Alhaji
Yusuf Danchadi, made the disclosure at the graduation of the
beneficiaries from a three-month computer appreciation course.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports
that the course was organised by the Sokoto State Education Development
Trust Fund ( SEDTF).
Danchadi, who was represented by the
Director, Sokoto State Education Resource Centre, Alhaji Abubakar Dange,
said that the gesture was to assist the physically-challenged students
to pursue education with relative ease.
The commissioner expressed optimism that the students would continue with their computer study after the training.

He commended SEDTF for the effort to educate the students on Information Communication Technology (ICT).
In a remark, the Chairman, Vocational
Training Committee of SEDTF, Alhaji Tukur Abdurrahman, said it was
imperative to educate and train students in ICT “because that is what is
in vogue globally.’’ (NAN)
