University of Ibadan postpones 2013 Convocation Ceremonies due to ASUU Strike

The University of Ibadan has postponed her already scheduled 2013 Convocation Ceremonies.
According to the announcement on the institution’s official website, the Convocation was postponed indefinitely as a result of the ongoing industrial action by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The official announcement reads in full below;
Due to the industrial action by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) causing a disruption of the academic calendar, the 2013 Convocation and 65 th Foundation Day Ceremonies of the University of Ibadan earlier scheduled to hold from Friday, 15 to Monday, 18 November, 2013 have been postponed till further notice.
However, to commemorate the 65th Foundation Day, there will be a Jumat Service at the UI Central Mosque on Friday, 15 November, 2013 at 2.00pm and a Thanksgiving Service at the Chapel of the Resurrection on Sunday 17 November, 2013 at 10:00am.
The University Management regrets the inconvenience this postponement may cause.
